After a dramatic and hard-fought championship final, Team Philippines captured the 2026 Predator WPA Teams World Championship, defeating Team Poland in a thrilling showdown.

Poland struck first, taking control of the match by winning the opening two sets and putting early pressure on the Philippine squad. Team Philippines responded with resilience and determination, rallying back to claim both the third and fourth sets to level the match. With the title on the line, the championship was ultimately decided in a shootout, where Team Philippines held their nerve to secure the world crown.

With the world title, the Philippine squad earned $120,000 to be shared from a total prize fund of $300,000, reinforcing the nation’s place among the global powerhouses of professional billiards.

When Billiards Becomes a Team Story

There is always something extraordinary about world team championships. Beyond individual talent, these events give rise to rare team chemistry connections that develop match after match through trust, strategy, and shared pressure.

This evolving alchemy is what makes team competition so compelling, as players grow into their roles and elevate each other throughout the tournament.

All matches are played in sets, race to 4, using a winner-break format.

• Set 1: Three-player team rotation (two same-sex players + one opposite-sex)

• Set 2: Same-sex doubles

• Set 3: Mixed doubles

• Set 4: Singles (if required, with player eligibility restrictions)

• Set 5: Shootout (if required)

This format emphasizes team depth, versatility, and strategy, rewarding squads that can adapt and perform under the highest pressure.

Team Philippines – World Champions

The championship-winning lineup featured: • Carlo Biado • Chezka Centeno • Rubilen Amit • Jefrey Roda

A balanced and experienced squad whose collective strength proved decisive on the sport’s biggest stage.

Defending Champions Eliminated

The defending world champions, Team Germany, saw their title defense end in the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by Team USA-A, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of the 2026 field.
