V?squez and Apolinario Draw in Argentina; Neither Gets WBA Belt

After 12 rounds of combat, Filipino John Mark Apolinario of Sarangani (left) and veteran former 2-division world champion Roberto "La Ara?a" V?squez of Panama drew in their title match for the WBA Bantamweight Interim Crown tonight at Club Union in the riverside City of Colon in Entre Rios Province, Argentina.

The judges scorecards expressed their parity: Jes?s Cova of California 114-114, Gustavo Estrella of Argentina 114-114 and Uriel Aguilera of Colombia 115-113 for Vazquez; a majority draw.

In the co-main event between fightgirls, gorgeous world champ Cecilia "La Reina" Communal scored a unanimous decision victory over Brazilian challenger Simone Da Silva Duarte to retain for the first time her WBA Lightweight World Title.

The affair was a total dominance by the stunner 23 year-old Comunales born in Paysandu, Uruguay.

Official scorecards: Jes?s Cova 100-90, Roberto Ram?rez Jr. of Puerto Rico 99-91 and Gustavo Estrella of Argentina 98-92 and still WBA Lightweight World Champion Ceclilia "La Reina" (The Queen) Comunales.

The successful boxing event in Argentina broadcast throughout Latin America was a co-production Maravilla Box of Middleweight World Champion Sergio "Maravilla" Mart?nez, Sampson Boxing LLC of Sampson Lewkowicz and SSG Sports Promotions of Filipino promoter Sammy Gello-Ani.
