"El Confesor" wants his WBC title back. WBC Jr. Flyweight World Champion Kompayak Porpramook of Thailand and his Mexican challenger Adrian "Confessor" Hern?ndez made identical weights of 113.5 lbs (51.5 kgs) during a pre-weigh in before fans and media ahead of their world title clash on October 6 @ the Centro de Convenciones in Toluca, M?xico.
The official WBC weigh-in ceremony will take place Friday October 5 in Toluca in which both warriors are required to make no more than 108 lbs (48.99 kgs) the limit of the jr. flyweight division (categor?a minimosca).
It will be the second world title slugfest between Kompayak and Hern?ndez. In the first clash, Kompayak knocked out the Mexican to take his title in Bangkok.
It was a dramatic action-packed non-stop blow-by-blow fight last December at an open air ring set inside a military camp of the Thai Army in the Kingdom's capital.
During that extremely hot and humid afternoon Kompayak Porpramook knocked out the tough Mexican world champion in round 10, depriving him of his coveted green/gold world title belt.
"Things happened to me in Thailand. I had a good 2-month preparation at the specialized Centro Ceremonial Otom?, yet in Thailand I got tired fast and I lost the fight. Now in Mexico things will be so different. I am well trained," commented "El Confesor" Hern?ndez during the crowded presscon in the city of Toluca de Lerdo, the fifth largest city in Mexico, only about 40 minutes by car to the western edge of the Distrito Federal de M?xico.
Meanwhile, the Thailand world champion said:
"I beat him once and I come to win for a second time. It will be a war and if he says he is well prepared, I also say that I did the best (in training). So I'm sure the WBC title returns with me to Thailand."
After his fight with Taconing, Kompayak immersed himself in a monastery to meditate, concentrate and focus for this important fight in Mexico.
WINNER OF THE KOMPAYAK-HERNANDEZ SHOULD GIVE THE CHANCE TO FILIPINO JONATHAN TACONING
Kompayak Porpramook is no stranger to controversy.
Last May, the Thailand brawler Kompayak questionable defeated Filipino Jonathan Taconing challenger in Buriram, Thailand (bordering Cambodia).
The fight was stopped due to a minimal cut on Kompayak's face at the precise moment in which the pinoy warrior was taking full command of the actions.
Afterwards, the Filipino team protested.
As a result, the Korean referee Mr. Jae-Bong Kim was banned from boxing for a period of time by World Boxing Council (WBC) and hasn't officiated in a boxing match ever since.
But no mandatory rematch was ordered.
Due to the irregularities during the Kompayak-Taconing fight, it would be fair that the winner of the Kompayak-Hern?ndez title fight on October 6 in Toluca give a chance to the 25-year-old Filipino Jonathan Taconing, native of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
Will the Thailander Kompayak knock out again Mexican Hernandez, this time in his own country Mexico? Or will the aztec re-claim back his WBC world title?
Take a look at their first fight and take your own conclusions.
