"THE SCORPION" CHALLENGES JAPANESE SLUGGER HIROKI SHIINO THIS SATURDAY IN PARA?AQUE, MANILA

The Scorpion is ready to sting again. Filipino bantamweight Dennis "The Scorpion" Tubieron, a native of the paradisaical City of Puerto Princesa in Palawan, will have the assignment of trading power blows with tough WBC world rated Japanese knockout artist Hiroki Shiino this coming Saturday (Sept 8) at the Elorde Sports Complex in Para?aque, Manila.
The exciting 12-round match will be for the prestigious WBC International Bantamweight belt in possession of the Japanese, informed to Philboxing well-known promoter Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde of Elorde International Productions.
Since Hiroki Shiino is the current WBC's #12 bantamweight, the winner will assure for himself a place in the coveted list of the world's best 118 pounders, a division where the world champion is undefeated Japanese speedster Shinsuke Yamanaka (16-0, 11KO's).
"The Scorpion" Tubieron (13-1-1, 4KO's) will be battling a dangerous foreign fighter for a second time in his career. Last year, the 22 year-old Filipino lost a narrow 12 round split decision to WBF bantamweight champion South African Lubabalo Msuthu in Johannesburg.
But Tubieron bounced back into the winner's column with a 10 round unanimous decision victory over Iloilo's Rex Olisa last March in Mandaluyong, Manila.
Meanwhile, slugger Hiroki Shiino (8-1, 7KO's), six years older than The Scorpion, is in turn facing a Filipino warrior for a second time.
Last October, the heavy-handed Hiroki Shiino destroyed in dramatic fashion game Filipino Dado Cabintoy at Puerto Princesa Coliseum in Palawan.
Shiino's relentless artillery forced the brave Cabintoy down to the canvas in round 10; then punished him and sent him to the floor two more times in round 11, prompting top international referee Bruce McTavish to stop the combat at 2:39 of round 11.
QUESTIONS
Will hard-hitting Hiroki Shiino handle "The Filipino Scorpion" with the same ruthlessness he treated Cabintoy?
Or will "the Filipino Scorpion" avenge his kababayan's rough defeat by knocking out Hiroki Shiino and grabbing his International crown and precious WBC world ranking?
We'll find out this coming Saturday night (Sep 8) at the Elorde Sports Complex and Philboxing will be present to report.
MORE EXCITING COMBATS
In an undercard, WBC Youth Intercontinental light flyweight champion Renan Trongco (11-3, 8KO's) of Palawan will defend his title against Japanese warrior Ryu Onigashima (12-5, 7KO's) of Chiba.
A former world title challenger, Trongco has won his last three fights by way of knockout and aims at keep winning meaningful combats with the goal of a future title shot in the light flyweight division.
As for Onigashima, 24, his combat with Trongo will be his first fight in a foreign land as all his seventeen wars have been at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Worth seeing how the Japanese will perform against Trongco, a southpaw fighter of resources and speed.
Also, the undefeated 20 year-old Gabriel "Wonderboy" Altarejos (12-0, 4KO's), will cross fire with Sarangani's Weljan Ugbaniel (8-2, 2KO's) for the vacant WBC Youth Intercontinental super flyweight belt.
Despite his unblemished record, Altarejos hasn't fought any foe of much quality and Ugbaniel will certainly be a good test, a fight worth witnessing.
In addition, Jaderes Padua "Mayon's Lava" (7-1-1, 5KO's) of Guinobatan, Albay, who in all his nine matches has faced light opposition, this time will have to battle a more experienced accomplished enemy: Indonesian James Mokoginta (22-7-2, 11KO's).
At 21 years of age, Mokoginta is a year younger than the "Mayon's Lava," but the Indonesian triples the experience of the pinoy. Fans will find out if Padua can dominate the Indonesian Mokoginta, as his promoters hope... or will it be all the way around?
The international fight Padua-Mokoginta is for the the vacant WBC Youth Intercontinental super bantamweight (122 lbs) title.
