
"El Nica" Concepcion Wins; Moruti Mthalane Retains IBF Flyweight Belt in Panama

World rated former flyweight champion Luis "El Nica" Concepcion (26-3, 20KO's) of Panama scored a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Pablo "El Tren" Carrillo from Valledupar, Colombia today at the "Desafio Final" card at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama. The aggressive "Nica" Concepcion, ranked #6 by the IBF was the strongest and busiest warrior landing the most telling blows throughout the interesting match.
In an exciting combat International Boxing Federation Flyweight World Champion Moruti "Baby Face" Mthalane of South Africa made the successful fourth defense of his 112 lbs red/golden belt by stopping game mandatory challenger Ricardo Nunez in round eight. Both fighters visited the canvas during the intense title war.
A possible Moruti "Baby Face" Mthalane vs Luis "El Nica" Concepcion for the IBF world title could be next.
In an entertaining 6-round girls fight, Abigail "La Autentica" Villar won a majority decision over Noriela "La Princesita" Paz.
Also, super featherweight southpaw Jezreel "El Invisible" Corrales (11-1, 2KO's) decisioned the more experienced Fabian Marimon (17-6-1, 12KO's) of Cartagena, Colombia.
The exciting world title card today at the Roberto Duran Arena was a promotion of Panama's top boxing company Promociones y Eventos del istmo in association with South Africa's Branco Sports Promotions and Panama's sports channel TV Max.
