In a 10-round non-title clash, Mexican Orlando "Siri" Salido, the reigning WBO featherweight world champion, destroyed via effective knockout Chile's Mois?s "Matador" Guti?rrez during the violent action of round 3 tonight in Tepic, M?xico.

A combination of brutal blows thrown by the aggressive Salido (39-12, 27KO's), sent a hurt "Matador" Gutierrez down to the canvas near his own corner where referee Gabriel Peralta delivered the ten seconds count and waved the fight off. Time of stoppage was 2:49 of round 3.

After his victory the 31 year-old Salido said:

"I felt good taking quick control of the combat. I could not be careless all as there is no small enemy in this profession. I never underestimated him, I just did my work in the ring."

(As said in Spanish: "Me sent? muy bien tome r?pido control del combate. No pod?a confiarme en absoluto, no hay enemigo peque?o en esta profesi?n. Nunca lo menosprecie e hice mi trabajo en el ring")

With tonight's win, Salido's next title defense could be against popular undefeated Oxnard California's slugger Miguel Angel "Mikey" Garcia (28-0, 24KO's).

Mikey Garcia is the younger brother of former world champion turned successful trainer Roberto Garcia.

Seven years younger than Salido, the heavy-hitter Mikey Garcia would be an interesting opponent for the world champion.

MikeyGarcia, handled by Top Rank, is the reigning NABF/NABO featherweight champion.
