MANILA, Philippines - Two days before the official weigh-in, Mexican warrior Genaro "Poblanito" Garcia looked strong, fast and powerful of fists and legs during training session in the afternoon of Wednesday in Manila, ahead of his clash with Filipino Genesis Servania for the WBC International Silver Super Bantamweight Title this Saturday in Manila.

After a shadow boxing session in front of the gym's mirror and already sporting a hard rock abdomen, Genaro "El Poblanito" Garcia weighed 123 pounds, only one pound over the limit of the super bantamweight division.

"The Poblanito" trained for about one full hour under the watchful eye of his experienced trainer Sr. Roberto Lopez, brother of the famed Mexican Olympic medalist Hector Lopez.

Also known as "Scarface", Genaro Garcia jumped the rope non-stop for 20 minutes, showing a great physical condition.

"I haven't felt this good in so long! Its a great feeling. Here in Manila you perspire a lot so easily. I have accomplished a preparation that has allowed me to feel strong and be in weight two days prior to the weigh-in. Really good work," said Garcia while his sweaty face was being dried up by this trainer.

In addition, Garcia, a native of San Martin Texmelucan in the Mexican State of Puebla, made some exercises and more rounds of shadow boxing as another shower of sweat landed on the synthetic floor of the comfortable gym located along Makati Avenue.

"I am as strong as ever. That kid (Servania) is not going to stand the pace, you'll see."

In a brief moment of heartfelt sincerity with his team, Genaro Garcia shared his inner thoughts:

"Amigos, it is true I will have the public against me longing for my demise. The promoter would love my fall. The three Filipino judges would love to score against me, even the referee is Filipino resident, but I'll still knock him out."

If he chooses to think that way, Genaro "Poblanito" Garcia might worry about the three Filipino judges scoring rounds, but should not worry about the referee, who is none other that the famed well-known and respected Bruce McTavish, one of the best referees in the planet, a man of proven integrity, impartiality and professionalism, the owner of awesome ring experience.

Plus, Referee McTavish has already been a referee in one of his fights. He was he third man in his WBC world title fight between him and Toshiaki Nishioka in Yokohama in 2009.

In fact, Genaro Garcia is fortunate to have a referee as talented and brilliant as Mr. Bruce McTavish.

Anyways, back in his hotel room, standing on top of a digital scale that is said to be synchronized with the official scale, "El Poblanito" Garcia noted with much satisfaction the reading that he is 123 lbs., just one pound over the limit of the the super bantamweight division.

Thursday noon Genaro Garcia and Servania will meet face to face for the first time as they will share the stage during the final presscon hosted by ALA Boxing Promotions for "Pinoy Pride XIV: Night of Champions," an unforgettable event that will fire up the ring at Resort World Manila this Saturday June 2.
