MANILA, Philippines - Mexican fighters Genaro "Poblanito" Garcia and Felipe Salguero looked in good shaped and high spirits during a press conference today in Manila, both fighters promising victories over their respective opponents Genesis Servania and Donnie Nietes this Saturday June 2 at Resorts World here in Manila.

Chad E. Ca?ares of ALA Boxing invited boxing fans and promised a great evening of boxing this Saturday night at Resorts World Hoel and Casino, which will be broadcast on live stream and PPV.

Ca?ares also informed that the WBO officials for the Light Flyweight World Title between Filipino Donnie "Ahas" Nietes vs Mexico's Felipe Salguero are:

Judge Salven Lagunbay of the Philippines, judge Muhammad Rois of Indonesia and judge Sawaeng Thaweekoon of Thailand. Third man in charge of the action will be the experienced Raul Caiz Sr. of California, USA.

FELIPE SALGUERO (16-2-1, 11KOs) TALKS

Challenger Felipe Salguero commented "My advantage against Nietes is my hungry for glory. I want to become a world champion. I want to take that world title to Mexico. That is my advantage: my winning mentality. I feel a winning mind set. Plus, I know Donnie Nietes (29-1-3, 16KOs) very well.

"In fact, I attended Nietes' fight against Mario 'Dragoncito' Rodriguez. Because I fought in the co-main event of Nietes' card in Sinaloa. Yes, I saw him in action in his twelve rounds against Dragoncito. I know how he fights. I've analyzed his style. I think I know him. Maybe he doesn't know me or what kind of danger I bring for him, he might realize when it's too late."

"Anyways, it's a great honor to fight a real champion like Donnie Nietes. I am very happy. About strategy or game plan, we have one, which I intend to put into practice above the ring. You will see it with your own eyes. Above the ring you will see it.

Salguero ended up his remarks by inviting fans:

I invite all fans to come over to my fight with Nietes. It will be a great war. I want to give Filipino fans a great show. I respect Donnie Nietes, but I will take his belt."

GENARO "POBLANITO" GARCIA (38-8, 22KOs)

Genaro Garcia, who will be battling rising star Genesis Servania (17-0, 5KO's) for the WBC Silver International super bantamweight title commented that he doubles the ring experience of the young Pinoy.

He mentioned that he has faced five world champions and he foresees that his opponent Servania will not be able to handle his close quarters pressure.

El Poblanito Garcia also shared to the present audience:

"I don't have problem with weight. Not many times I have had to fight in a weather so hot like this one here in Manila. But during the day here I have already adapted myself to the conditions. So, there is no problem. There is really no problem with the weight. We are ready to be on the right weight (super bantamweight) during this Friday's weight-in. Everything is according to plan."

Garcia went on to comment that he comes to the Philippines to give a great show.

"We are warriors who come from the other side of the world to give a spectacular show of boxing. In fact, we, the Filipino champions and Mexican challengers are all warriors, true fighters who will give a great show for fans. If us Mexicans are going to fall we will do it with dignity, but should we get the triumph on the ring, then we expect to be awarded the victory. It will be a spectacular event. I invite all Filipino boxing fans for great boxing this Saturday."

Chad Ca?ares of ALA Boxing ended the presscon informing that boxer Jesus Geles (13-2-1, 5KOs), the Colombian ex world champ scheduled to face undefeated world rated flyweight star Milan Melindo (26-0, 10KOs) will arrive in the Philippines tomorrow (Wednesday) as his flight has been delayed.

Official weight-in will be at 12 noon on Friday at the activity area of Robinson Galleria in Manila.
