Undefeated prospect Roberto "Calibre" Gonzales will finally get his chance to grab for himself his first Regional Title Belt as he faces Ryan Sermona for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific Super Featherweight Title on May 13 in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro.

Gonzales who hails from Romblon made a name in the local boxing scene through the Sunday boxing program Saved By The Bell which used to air at RPN 9. His fights were mostly staged in Agoncillo, Batangas which is the hometown of his Manager/Promoter Elmer Anuran. Gonzales has evolved from a pure brawler to technically sound boxer with a powerful punch. His most notable victim was former WBC Regional Champ Balweg Bangoyan who he defeated last year via split decision.

Ryan Sermona on the otherhand is not to be taken lightly, his only knockout loss was against Jose Ocampo. His two other losses coming by way of decisions. The native of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental has a granite chin, good stamina and powerpacked punches. Thus, this fight will not only be a regional title stint for Gonzales but a test of his toughness and skills.

The event is being presented to us by Saved by the Bell Promotions through its young honcho Elmer Anuran. The event is also made possible through the support of Puerto Galera's hard working Mayor Hubert Dolor. Also supporting this boxing fest is Nico Valencia of Oriental Mindoro's First Legislative District.
