Bacolod City- Arden "Bulldog" Diale retained his Philippine GAB Flyweight Title by stopping ALA rising prospect Mhar Jhun "Astig" Macahilig in 29 seconds of round seven. Macahilig was leading in the score cards, dominating Diale with stiff jabs and hooks in the preceding rounds. Diale was all respects for Macahilig's power as he danced around the ring while stinging Macahilig with accurate counter punches from time to time. However, the Saranggani native proved his ring smarts and experience by finding the perfect timing in landing the perfect punch.
Shortly after the opening bell of the seventh round, Diale led Macahilig to the center of the ring and upon finding an opening, unleashed a perfect right hook to his opponent's jaw. Macahilig was out of his senses thus prompting international referee Samson Libres to wave his hands off calling halt to the bout. Macahilig remained on the canvass for minutes but safely returned to his corner before the official announcement. Diale improves his record to W18 (KO5)-L6-D3 while Macahilig drops to W14(KO8)-L2-D0.
In the undercard matches, Mark Acub improved his undefeated record to W7(KO6)-L0-D0 with a fifth round knock out of Rocky Sismundo. Mark Acub who fights like a diesel engine started slow fighting Sismundo toe to toe but fired up from round four before stopping the Boholano with a wicked right hook to the head in the fifth round. Seeing Sismundo in a dreamy state, referee Dan Nietes stopped the bout in order to avoid further punishment for the Tagbilaran pug. Official time was 1:52.
Arjan Canillas fought in a rush, quickly saying goodnight to Hagibis Quinones with a right cross to the head in 2:38 of the very second round. Quinones was unable to beat the count thus giving the win to the Toledo City fighter.
Also in the undercard, Reymund Tabogon stopped Dingdong Quinones in the second round. Louie Arlos negated the height and reach advantage of Boholano opponent Bryan Inojales winning the fight by unanimous decision. In the curtain raiser, Marlon Macayan won via Majority Decision over Japanese opponent Takaoki Noma.
The Cobra Tunay na Lakas Boxing Event was held the Bays Center, Bacolod City and was presented by ALA Promotions in partnership with Cobra Energy Drink. In attendance were ALA Promotions President Michael Aldeguer and GAB Chairman Juan Ramon "Monju" Guanzon.
