Rodel Mayol and Richie Mepranum arrived today in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico. "I've come well prepared, willing to knock out Tyson Marquez. I know that Marquez is a very strong fighter, and he will also look for the knockout," said Filipino fighter Rodel Mayol upon his arrival today at Ciudad Obregon's Aiport, M?xico.

Rodel Mayol landed accompanied by his team of coaches and assistants Raides Neri, Jeremiah Quijano and Paquito Tinaga Jr., also agent Michael Konz, as well as fellow Filipino boxer southpaw Richie Mepranum, who will fight in the co-main event.

The fight between Rodel Mayol (30-5-22, 22KO's) and M?rquez (32-2-0, 25 KOs) will be the main event in the "Choque de Campeones" (Clash of Champions) card Philippines vs M?xico, which is organized by Promociones Zanfer and Larsa Comunicaciones this coming Saturday at the Centro de Usos Multiples (CUM) in Ciudad Obreg?n.

Rodel Mayol, 30, has confidence on the two months training camp in California. "Now I feel very strong, I trained very well, first in the Philippines, and then in Los Angeles... I feel very strong."

"I feel very excited for this opportunity, it's the fight that I was wishing for. My preparation has been very good. I come here well prepared for this fight," said Rodel Mayol.

The talented Filipino former world champion, known as "Batang Mandaue," invited fans and media to his fight with Tyson Marquez this Saturday"

"What to expect from me? Expect a good fighter. Because I come to fight. Tyson is very strong. He is a very talented boxer. It will be a good fight and I'm going to give it all."

RICHIE MEPRANUM READY FOR THE ACTION

Meanwhile, the other Filipino on this Saturday's card, Richie Mepranum (25-2-1, 5 KOs), is scheduled to battle top sonorense prospect and 2011 "Campe?n Azteca" Juan Francisco "El Gallo" Estrada (22-1-0, 17KOs) for the WBA North American flyweight title. (El Gallo means The Rooster).

Mepranum, 24, of Maasim, Sarangani was a bit shy during his meeting with Mexican boxing reporters. But he managed to say "this is a very good chance to show who I am. It's good to fight for that title," he said.

Richie might be shy with reporters, but not shy in the ring. Two years ago Mepranum defeated the then unbeaten Tyson" Marquez by unanimous decision in Texas. "I come to Mexico well prepared. It will be a good fight. You will see what I can do."

He might lack punching power, but in his 28 professional fights, Mepranum has lost only two times to top fighters former world champions Julio Cesar "Pingo" Miranda of Mexico and Denkaosan Kaovichit of Thailand.

Mepranum is young, talented and experienced. So, "El Gallo" (The Rooster) Estrada should be very ready and "well heeled," as Mepranum is a top flyweight ranked among the top 15 fighers in the world by the WBC, IBF and WBO.

"El Gallo" Estrada is not yet ranked among the top fifteen in any organization.

About his opponent "El Gallo" Estrada, Mepranum said it is a good fighter, very strong, but he expects to defeat him.

This will be Mepranums third fight in the land of M?xico. While for Mayol, this Saturday's will be his fourth combat in the land of the great Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez.

Both Mayol and Mepranum will take part in a Public Workout on Wednesday at 12 noon at Goal Gym.

In the afternoon, the pinoys will meet and greet Mexican fans, take photos and sign autographs in a friendly event at the nice Plaza Tutuli at 5 pm.

There will be an additional presscon. The weight-in will be on Friday afternoon. Fight time will be on Saturday night in M?xico (Sunday morning Manila Time) and will be broadcast live in HD on TV Azteca.
