Tagbilaran, Bohol - What would the boxing fans expect in a fight card that will showcase Boom-Boom Bautista, Jayson Pagara, Genesis Servania and Michael Domingo all in one night of boxing? Of course it?s all out action.
The last time Rey ?Boom-Boom? Bautista fought in Bohol was on the year 2005 wherein an estimated 50,000 Boholanos showed support to their very own hero from Candijay, Bohol. Tomorrow night ALA Promotions expects more people to troop the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex to witness their own champion slug it out with former world title contender Genaro Garcia of Mexico.
ALA Promotions is well known for putting up boxing events that give back to the fans more than their money?s worth. Thus, an exciting roster of co-featured matches shall be witnessed in the undercards.
The undefeated sweet scientist of Bacolod City Genesis ?Azucal? Servania will face tough African Nick Otieno in a ten rounder bout. Jayson Pagara will try to bounce back from his recent loss to Gabriel Montoya as he fights Indonesian Champion Franz Yaranga in another ten rounder bout. Michael Domingo will try to prove that he still has the fire to make it back in the high ratings when he trade leathers with Marvin Tampus in an eight round match. According to boxing patriarch Tony Aldeguer, Domingo needs to win impressively in order to set aside the possibility of retirement.
During the weigh-in held recently at the Island City Mall, Mexican Genaro Garcia failed to meet the 128 pounds agreed weight limit. The consequence would be for him to wear a 12 oz. gloves versus Bautista?s standard 8 oz. as stated under the rules. Garcia, who is a famed slugger promised to give Bautista the hardest fight in his career. Garcia rose to fame when he knocked out a young Rafael Marquez in the second round of their fight in the year 2000.
Pinoy Pride XII is presented to us by ALA Promotions and ABS CBN Sports. The event will be held at the Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex tomorrow, March 3, Saturday at 6Pm and will be aired via ABS CBN on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
