MANDALUYONG CITY -- Giovanni Segura has been discharged from hospital a while ago. Contrary to rumors on broken orbital bones, all lab results were negative of further injuries aside from the hematoma cause by an injured vein. The Mexican Warrior has been confined at the Medical City since after the fight but has been cleared and is now back at his hotel.

?I would like to tell my fans that they have nothing to worry about. I am perfectly well and I thank God for healing me. Sunday was Viloria?s day, it was not my day but it doesn?t mean I?ll stop fighting. I will get a championship belt again next year and maybe I and Brian can fight again for a unification bout. I love the Philippines and I will be taking home a lot of great memories. I hope I can visit here once again in the near future. I thank all the Filipino fans for their great support. Just like Mexicans, Filipinos are the best boxing fans. It felt like I was just at home fighting.?

Earlier this afternoon, boxing legend Gerry Penalosa paid Segura a visit and handed him some souvenirs from the Manila. Segura praised the kindness of the boxing legend who visited with his wife Goody. Segura is set to fly to Los Angeles on Saturday. From this scribe?s assessment, Segura has recovered really fast. The swell was almost gone except for at the right eye area. The former champ has been in his usual jolly mood and joked around as if nothing happened.
