SMB 9-BALL: REYES, MAZON ADVANCE

Filipino billiards legend Efren ?Bata? Reyes and Jundel ?Jano? Mazon, advanced to the Last 8 of the 2011 San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest Festival 9-ball Open after defeating their respective rivals at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.

Reyes, top player of sportsman/businessman Aristeo ?Putch? Puyat, beat Antonio ?Nickoy? Lining, 9-1, while Mazon, playing under the banner of Jonathan Sy's Negros Billiards Stable (NBS) ripped Warren Kiamco, 9-5, in the Open Masters category which offers P350,000 to the champion.

The victory assured Reyes and Mazon of a seat in the quarterfinals in the Puyat Sports organized event backed up by San Miguel Beer, Negros Billiards Stable, Bugsy Promotions and Resorts World Manila.

In other matches saw, world no.1 and world 8-ball champion Dennis ?Robocop? Orcollo bested Ramil ?Bebeng? Gallego, 9-5, lone Filipina entry Rubilen ?Bingkay? Amit upset Rodolfo ?Boy Samson? Luat, 9-8, and reigning BSCP National Pool champion Carlo ?The Black Tiger? Biado trounced Ricky ?Bai? Zerna, 9-7. Tournament director is Ish Caparras of Puyat Sports.
