Flash news from Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico- WBC International Minimumweight Champion Denver Cuello-Singwangcha gets crowned as the new WBC Silver Minimumweight World Champion after knocking out Carlos Perez in the very first round.
The Filipino Champion wasted no time when the opening bell struck. He surprised the taller Mexican by going berserk with a three straight combination. Perez countered with a right straight but Cuello threw a perfect timed left uppercut to the body immediately sending the Mexican to the canvass. Perez was obviously hurt and failed to beat the count. The referee called off the fight at 2:31 of the very first round.
According to Denver?s Manager Aljoe Jaro, ?Denver was so quick that the Mexican got caught off-guard. The Mexican boxing fans called Denver an animal in the ring because of his fierce and relentless fighting style. They cheered for Denver and they loved watching him fight.? With Jaro in Cuello?s corner were Filipino ex US Marine Carlito Vasquez of Las Vegas and Canelo Promotions executive Hector Zapari.
Denver made a bold statement that he has always been ready to be a world champion and that he is a real threat to other champions in the lower divisions. With the sensational win, Cuello will have his chance to grab the regular WBC Minimumweight Belt against WBC No. 1 rated Gannigan Lopez of Mexico tentatively on December 2011 or January 2012.
The newly crowned champion will be back in Manila with his manager Aljoe Jaro on Tuesday morning, October 18, 2011.
Congratulations Denver!
