Newly crowned Philippine GAB Featherweight Champion Michael Farenas has formalized his management ties with Japanese Boxing Manager Kosuke Washio. After dethroning Edgar Gabejan of his belt, the Gerry Pe?alosa prot?g? has made the Japanese Businessman his official Manager. The signing of the contract happened after the Dugong Kampeon Event last October 1 at the Rajah Hotel in Cebu City.

According to two division world champion Gerry Pe?alosa, Mr. Washio had always acted as Mike?s manager but the relationship had always been based on friendship and trust. ?Washio San gave his full support to Farenas and he did so unselfishly. He is a very generous person and has treated his boxer like his own son. This contract signing is Michael?s gesture of gratitude and trust towards Mr. Washio.?

The terms and contents of the long-term contract were never disclosed but everything will work for the better of Farenas? career. ?I love Michael like my own son. I want the best for his career. I also trust Gerry who has been a friend of mine for a very long time. I am very happy we have made everything official.?, Washio disclosed to this scribe.

With these developments, a lot of big breaks are in store for the Sorsogon Boxer. After his victory over Fernando Beltran Jr. and Gabejan, Farenas? career is headed closer to a world title fight. Given the choice, Michael wishes to fight Puerto Rican sensation JuanMa Lopez.
