Saved by the Bell Promotions headed by groovy honcho Elmer Anuran is cooking another epic fight for the month of November. Undefeated Al ?Captain A? Sabaupan (W16 KO11 L0 D1) will measure his guts against former IBO 130 lbs King Ji Hoon ?Volcano? Kim of Korea. Kim ain?t no tune up fight for Sabaupan. He is a former world champ and has been through tough battles losing by decision against world champion Miguel Vasquez and knocking out tough veteran Ameth Diaz in one round. He stands at a towering 5?9.5? and boasts a record of W22 KO18 L7 D0.
?Sabaupan?s southpaw stance will be interesting against the orthodox Korean. Their knock out seeking aggressive fighting style will make the bout explosive. I am taking my boys to tough tests so that I can see who among them are ripe for world title bouts or for bigger fights. This will be no different for Sabaupan. Drian Francisco took the test against Domingo and passed. Now it is Al?s turn. It is a fight for him to make or break.? Anuran told this writer. If he passes the test, we will try to arrange a fight with reigning IBF Lightweight Champion Miguel Vasquez.
"For the venue, we are contemplating on making it another free to the public fight. However, we are thinking about getting a more accessible venue. Ynares in Mandaluyong is one option. Cuneta Astrodome and Makati Coliseum will also be considered. We will notify the fans once the venue is finalized."
Also to be featured in the undercards are Nino Magboo, Jun Doliguez, Lolito Sonsona and other upcoming Touch Gloves boxers who will face yet to be announced formidable opponents. Watch out for updates.
