WBC International Minimumweight Champion Denver Cuello-Singwangcha finished his homework early as he dispatched late replacement opponent Sebastian Arcos in the third round. Arcos was knocked down twice in the second round but survived the round. In the third round, Cuello landed a perfect timed left uppercut to the jaw which sent Arcos to the canvass for good thus prompting the referee to end the fight. Cuello-Singwangcha improved his record to W28-KO18-L4-D6.
With the easy victory, Denver will get a crack at the vacant WBC Silver Minimumweight Title by fighting Carlos Perez on October 15 at Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. If things work according to plans and Cuello bags the silver belt, he will get his long desired world title crack in December against Gannigan Lopez.
As of today, Cuello and Jaro will proceed to the hometown of Canelo Promotions CEO Eddy Renoso in Guadalajara for a scheduled press conference. The boxer and his manager will then fly to Las Vegas to continue Denver?s training. Canelo Promotions has assigned former world champ Oscar Larios to take care of Cuello while Jaro is back in the Philippines. Denver will keep on training in the US until his next scheduled fight.
Denver thanks all his supporters who wished him well and prayed for his victory. Team Cuello is also very thankful to the hospitality of Canelo Promotions particularly Eddy Renoso, Hector Zapari, Oscar Larios and the warm people of Cozumel.
