Flyweight Ricardo "El Matem?tico" Nu?ez of Panama impressively claimed the WBA FedeLatin flyweight (112 lbs) title by knocking out tough and highly regarded world rated Mexican warrior Oscar Blanquet today in Cozumel, Mexico.

From the beginning of the fight, the 23-year-old Ricardo Nu?ez, who weighed 111? lbs, attacked the powerful hard hitting Mexican Blanquet with accurate fast combinations. But Blanquet, 26, had no weapons to slow down nor counter attack the heavy bombardment thrown by "El Matem?tico."

In round 3, a potent attack dished out by the Panamanian sent Oscar Blanquet to the canvas.

From then on, Nunez, the kid from La Chorrera, Panama, continued punishing his courageous Mexican opponent.

Relentless attacks sent by Nu?ez did not cease.

Finally, a powerful storm of leather rocked the defenseless courageous Mexican prompting Puerto Rico's referee Samuel Viruet to halt the unnecessary punishment and declare Ricardo Nu?ez winner by technical KO in round 7.

With this exciting win, Ricardo Nu?ez (22-2, 19KO's), who is the WBA #2 ranked, will likely claim the position of mandatory #1 challenger as the WBA #1 position in the WBA is currently vacant.

Ricardo Nu?ez is also the Latin flyweight champion and world ranked WBC # 7 and IBF # 10.

Meanwhile, the defeated brave heart Oscar Blanquet (now 29-4-1, 20KOs) of Ciudad de M?xico has been the world ranked WBA # 9, WBC # 8 and IBF # 8.
