CUELLO-SINGWANGCHA: I NEED A WORLD TITLE FOR ME TO GRAB OTHER BELTS AT 108 AND 105

Denver Cuello-Singwangcha is leaving for Mexico on September 15 together with his Manager Aljoe Jaro. Despite his shy demeanor, Denver is a story teller once he gets comfortable for a casual chit-chat. In our recent talk, ?The Excitement? shared with me his thoughts and hopes on his boxing career.

?I entered the world of boxing because of my idol Manny Pacquiao. I admire him for his ferocious attitude inside the ring. I always knew I had the heart of Kuya Manny and I only need to work hard on my skills. Just like Pacman, my losses never put me down as a fighter, I treated them as lessons and used them to improve myself. After every loss, I came back as a more mature and better fighter.?

?My biggest heartbreak was my disqualification loss to Juan Hernandez. I was so excited during that fight that I accidentally hit him when he was already down. It was my fault but I believe the fight could have been declared a draw and not a win for him. Had I won that fight and took home the WBC Silver Belt, then there is no doubt I am still the WBC 105 Lbs Champ until now.?

?I have no regrets whatsoever, I had to go back to the drawing board and prove myself further as a formidable contender. My manager worked so hard to get me every fight possible in order to make me rise in the world rankings. I fought regardless of the purse I get but for the exposure I will get. I did my best to knock out every opposition placed before me so that people will remember me as an exciting fighter.?

?I have always been ready for a world title fight, but are the champions ready to put their belts at stake against me? My upcoming fight with Patricio Camacho is my first under a Mexican Promotional Company. I believe this is my ticket to a world title fight within the year. Perhaps I am the hungriest Filipino fighter right now. I crave so bad for that elusive world title belt. I need one world title in order for me get the chance of unifying other belts in my division. I know I can fight and win against those champions we have right now at 105 and 108. And being a world champion myself would be the best arsenal to have in order to secure those dream fights.?

?I am not cocky like Mayweather. Yes I am ambitious. But I can back up my talking inside the ring. I also acknowledge that I won?t be in the position I am right now without the support of my fellow Filipinos and the guidance and care of my Manager Aljoe Jaro and advisor Naris Singwangcha of Thailand. I will fight on Mexico on September 24. I am asking your prayers and support once again. Thank you for being behind me in my quest for that world title belt. Salamat and Mabuhay and Boksingerong Pinoy!?

These were excerpts from my talk with Denver Cuello-Singwangcha. A win against Camacho will entitle him to fight Gannigan Lopez for the WBC Silver Belt and will put him a step closer to that world title fight he has been working hard for..
