Samut Sakhon, THAILAND - Young Pinoy warrior Roilo Golez has scored the biggest victory of his young career by impressively defeating WBC Asian Boxing Council minimunweight champ Thongthailek Sor Tanapinyo via 10th round technical KO in Krathum Bean, Samut Sakhon Province, Thailand.

The victorious Roilo Golez, in his second fight in the Kingdom of Thailand, was assisted in his corner by his manager and promoter Brico Santig of Higland Boxing Promotions of Baguio.

The Golez-Thongthailek rumble was a hard fought close affair from the beginning with both the Thai and Pinoy warriors hungry for victory exchanging vicious and dangerous combinations which entertained the Thai audience in Krathum Bean.

But in round 10 a dramatic changed occurred.

At that stage of the combat, Roilo Golez began delivering accurate body shots which hurt the Asian champ and visibly slowed him down.

Then Golez followed up that damage with powerful devastating combinations to the head and body which sent the Thailander to the floor for the first time.

The Thai crowd was absolutely stunned as the unheralded Filipino fighter had taken complete command of the war.

The brave 24-year-old Thailander Thongthailek stumblingly managed to get up at the count of 8. But the Thai referee ordered the fight to continue.

Now the Pinoy did not seem willing to slow down on his assault.

Few blinks of an eye later, a devastating 3-blow combination staggered the Thai and perfect last punch to the liver annihilate the Thai warrior sending him the the canvas for a second agonizing time.

The Thai boxer was down and out and visibly in the world of hurt and could not stand up, which prompted referee Tanawat Wongsasan to wave off and ask for medical assistance.

Roilo Golez was declared winner by technical KO at official time of 1:04 of round 10. The supervisor was Mr. Radom Na Bangchang of Thailand. The fight had been scheduled to 12 rounds and organized the prestigious Thailand boxing promotions company Kokiet Group.

This was an awesome and dramatic victory in a far away land for the shy young Filipino Roilo Golez who is used to train by himself. Armed only with the dream of becoming a champion, Roilo has beaten the odds and became the new WBC Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) minimumweight champion.

The brave 23-year-old Roilo "The Phoenix" Golez (12-6, 4KOs) hails from the seaside Municipality of Maco in Compostela Valley Province in eastern Mindanao.

The new Asian Boxing Council minimumweight champ Roilo is promoted by Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Promotions based in Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines.
After the exciting title fight, International matchmaker Brico Santig commented for Philboxing:

"I am so happy. So proud of Roilo and proud of all my fighters. This great victory of Roilo Golez follows the big win of his teammate Rey Lorito last June 28 here in Thailand.

"Its a great success of Filipinos here in Thailand. We are flying back home to our country (Philippines) on July 11. It was a great day. Victory feels so good," said a smiley Brico Santig."
