FILIPINO pool wizard Warren Kiamco continued to bring in the big bucks as he won this year?s US Bar Table Event?s All-around Champion in the 18th Annual US Bar Table Championship 8-Ball Division at the Sands Regency Hotel in Reno, Nevada, USA yesterday.

It was the 2nd US Bar Table Event?s All-around Crown for Kiamco, whose stint in this event was backed up by Jonathan Sy's Negros Billiards Stable (NBS), Energen and Kopiko.

The Pasil, Cebu native Kiamco topped the 2007 edition for winning both the 9-ball and 8-ball crowns.

Kiamco, a many-time Southeast Asian Games gold medallist was a finalist this time in the 8-Ball Competition, winner in the 9-Ball Competition and top 6 in the 10-Ball Competition. Such results were enough for him to pocket the US Bar Table Event?s All-around Champion.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako kay Sir Jo (Jonathan Sy) at Coach Toper (Christopher Palses) ng NBS at JSY Sports pati sa Energen at Kopiko sa walang humpay na suporta nila sa billiards career ko. Alay ko sa bayan ang tagumpay kong ito."said the soft-spoken Kiamco, best friend of newly-installed World 8-Ball Champion Dennis "Robocop" Orcullo who beat Neils "The Terminator" Feijen of the Netherlands, 10-3, last Sunday in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. "Binabati ko din si Pareng Dennis (Orcullo) sa pagkapanalo niya sa World 8-Ball Crown nitong weekend," he added.

Dubbed as ?Warrior,? because of his steely nerves, Kiamco made some of his trademark shots to beat American Larry "Leron" Nevel, 9-6, in the 9-Ball Competition finals over the weekend.

In the 8-Ball Competition double elimination finals yesterday, Kiamco despite enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage in the race-to-5-finals, the top players of Jonathan Sy's Negros Billiards Stable (NBS), collapsed in the first-set suffered a heart-breaking 5-4 decision loss to Canadian John Morra. Morra pressed his advantage in the second set, which he ended swiftly with a 5-2 final score.

Kiamco collected a total of $9,650 in prize money after 6 days of action. He won $2,000 for topping the US Bar Table Event?s All-around Crown, $4,650 for winning the 9-Ball Competition and another $3,000 for settling a runner-up finish in the 8-Ball Competition.

Negros Billiards Stable and JSY Sports president Jonathan "Bacolod" Sy said he is very happy with the impressive performance of Kiamco, who is playing under the banner of Negros Billiards Stable and JSY Sports, Energen and Kopiko.

"Ang tagumpay ni Warren (Kiamco) sa Reno, Nevada ay magandang simula para sa bilyar sa pagbubukas ng taong ito lalu na't una ng nakuha ni Dennis (Orcullo) ang World 8-Ball Crown sa Fujairah, UAE nitong weekend," said sportsman/businessman Jonathan "Bacolod" Sy, also co-founder of BMPAP and NCBL or much known B-league.

Other Filipino cue artists who participated in the said annual affair are Jose "Amang" Parica, Jundel Mazon, Deomark Alpajora, and former WPAWorld 9-Ball Champion Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan who captured the 10-Ball Division Crown.
