John Randall Peralta is one of the future stars of Philippine Chess, according to sportsman Atty. Aldwin Alegre, CEO/President of AQ Prime.

“John Randall Peralta is one of the young players I see as the future of Philippine Chess,” said Atty. Alegre, a former varsity chess player from Emilio Aguinaldo College.

John Randall is the newest member of the AQ Prime Sports Chess Talents roster, which includes WIM Marie Antoinette San Diego, FM Christian Mark Daluz, NM Al Basher “Basty” Buto, and Marius Constante.

A Grade 5 student at St. John’s Wort Integrated School in Antipolo, the 11 year old John Randall recently won the Gold Medal in the Standard Chess Category at the 2026 Regional Athletic Association Meet (RAAM). Competing against the region’s top players, he showcased his skill and finished with 6 points out of 7 rounds.

With calm focus, sharp strategy, and strong discipline, John Randall continues to prove why he is one of Antipolo City’s brightest young chess champions. This victory earned him a spot as a qualifier for the 2026 Palarong Pambansa in Agusan del Sur, where he will once again represent his city and region.

He also took home the Silver Medal in the Rapid Competition. Additionally, John Randall won the Elementary Division of the Manny Pacquiao International Chess Tournament held in General Santos City.

John Randall is undergoing intensive training under coaches US Master Jojo Aquino, Jason Rojo, Froilan Bolico III, and online Arena Grandmaster Jose Rafael “Jojo” Legaspi. (Marlon Bernardino)
