
NOKIA B-LEAGUE LAUNCHED

THE NOKIA B-League was officially launched on Wednesday.
"This is for the future of Philippine billiards, and we are all here gathered for this event," National Collegiate Billiards League (NCBL) president Aurelio ?Reli? de Leon said at press launching at the Mario?s Restaurant along Tomas Morato in Quezon City.
"It's about time to change the image of billiards in the Philippines." added Bugsy Promotions president and NCBL founding head Ceferino ?Perry? Mariano.
The NOKIA B-League will have its first rack on November 20 as 8-12 schools will field both college and high school teams in 8-Ball doubles, 9-Ball, and 10-Ball.
Among those who attended the event were NCBL directors Verna Mariano and sportswriter/radio commentator Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr., Dr. Ernesto Jay Adalem of St. Claire College and Atty, Ernesto Delos Santos of University of Manila.
"?The creation of the NCBL is another bright idea for the upliftment of the sport of billiards that we will support all the way,? said Dr. Ernesto Jay Adalem of St. Claire College
La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) bannered by two-time Makati Pool Players Association (MAPPA) 9-Ball Champion Hadley Mariano heads the list of cast.
ACCEL is the official outfitter of Nokia B-League and will be aired free thru live streaming (Internet) hosted by Star Billiards Center, headed by long-time billiards patron Sebastian "Baste" Chua. The semi-final round and final round will be held at the SM North Edsa in Quezon City which is backed up by Tao Coporation, Kopiko and Mediacom. Baywiew Hotel is the official hotel while the Philippine Star is the official print media partner.
The elimination round will be held at the famous star billiards center at no.46 Joy Street, Grace Village in Quezon City.
