AN ANSWER TO THE PUZZLED MR. HATTON

In a recent article written by Paul Radley, Ricky Hatton reveals a very rare afterthought. He admitted ?he should have made the same demands over blood-testing as the American (Mayweather) before he tackled the Filipino fighter last year.? He further stated, ?I must admit, I fancied my chances against Manny. A few years ago he was getting knocked down by little men like [Juan Manuel] Marquez, then all of a sudden he is knocking out Oscar de la Hoya, myself and [Miguel] Cotto, who are powerhouses in comparison.?

First point of correction, Manny was never knocked down by Marquez, it was Dinamita who kissed the canvass thrice in the first round of their first match and in the third round of their second match. One judge admitted the wrong scoring done for the first round of the first match which was supposed to be 10-6 due to the three knock-downs instead of the officially tallied 10-7. Thus, Pacquiao won both fights. To agree with Marquez?s baby cries that he beat Pacquiao twice would defy simple logic. The only guys who were able to knock Pacquiao down were Rustico Torrecampo during Manny?s 12th fight, Medgoen Singsurat in 1999 and Nedal Hussein in 2000 where Pacman was knocked down with a straight left in round four but was able to recover and win via TKO.

Second point to ponder, why doubt when you both underwent the NSAC mandatory drug testing? Manny Pacquiao had always complied with what every boxing body required him to undergo as a requirement for his fights. Hatton said he should have made the same demand as Mayweather?s Olympic style blood testing but never asked himself why the same Mayweather who knocked him out never demanded the same procedure taken during their match entitled ?Undefeated?. Manny Pacquiao was the first subject of Mayweather?s USADA Blood testing brouhaha. So the question is why start the demand with Manny Pacquiao ? Why not with De la Hoya, Hatton or Gatti? Because those fighters were cherry picked and never caused his knees to tremble the way Pacquiao does?

Mr. Hatton should realize that he was fairly beaten by Manny Pacquiao. If there?s anyone to blame for his funny look while he slept on the center of the Rockstar logo, it should be himself and his negligent trainer Floyd Sr. Here?s an unsolicited clue for you to become like Manny: a. live in poverty for 20 years. b. Hire Freddie Roach c. Be a super devout Catholic and try wearing a Rosary around your neck before every fight d. eat rice everyday. If things still do not work, then announce your retirement.

How I wish all boxers are like David Diaz, Miguel Cotto and Erik Morales who were gracious in defeat. It?s disgusting to see fierce ring warriors turn into sissies crying they were cheated after they get beaten by smaller fighters with bigger hearts.
