The bout between world rated Juanito Rubillar vs. Edwin Ubatay will be featured in the intitial offering of "Elorde Boxing Specials" TV Show over IBC Channel 13 Friday night, September 2 (Thursday morning in the U.S.).

The "Elorde Boxing Specials" is a one-hour program that will be telecast every Friday night between 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. and hosted by noted boxing experts Rey Danseco and Dennis Principe. The boxing show was formerly known as Ringside @ Elorde which had been running for a long time. According to Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde, the show's producer, the special has an initial 13-week contract with IBC Channel 13.

The Rubillar-Ubatay bout took place last Saturday night (August 27) as the main event of "Kulog sa Elorde" card at the air-conditioned Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Para?aque City and promoted by neophyte promoter Edmund Jose, son-in-law of the late Filipino boxing great Grabriel "Flash" Elorde.

Rubillar whose record stands at 37-9-7 win-loss-draw and ranked No. 2 by the WBC and No. 8 by IBF, demolished Ubatay in the 3rd canto of their scheduled 10-round non-title fight. He is now looking forward to face the winner of the Eric Ortiz vs. Brian Viloria world championship fight which will be held Sept. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles under the Morales / Pacquiao "Double Trouble" card.

To serve as an appetizer in the one-hour program are the impressive stoppage wins of newcomer Raymond Sermona (1-0, 1 KO), a hard-hitting 5-foot-4 super bantam, and 5-foot- undefeated flywieght Drian Francisco (3-0, 2 KOs), prot?g? of former two-time world flyweight champ Erbito Salavarria.
