The press conference started in a friendly manner, but as the event went foward at the World Trade Center in beautiful Veracruz, Mexico, Interim WBC superflyweight champ Tom?s "Gusano" Rojas and his challenger from South Africa Evans Mbamba started traiding insults to the point where the event had to be suspended.

Mbamba and his manager said they were happy to be in Veracruz and thanked the people of the city but when it was time to talk about his oponent, the challenger said that, "I will teach that bum to fight, to box, he is nothing but a bum and that title will be mine, I wanted to fight here in his hometown to teach the public he is nothing."

"I know that those fighters talk too much but we will see how he react when he takes many punches to the head, he will learn not to talk about the champion," said Rojas who seemed angry at his opponent, but the war of words was just starting.

"Gusano has to relize that he is not Barrera, he is not Morales, he is not Chavez, he is just a little decent fighter, nothing more, he has no skills and no will, and everybody will know that when I knock him out," said Mbamba.

When Rojas heard this comment he got up from his chair and tried to reach Mbamba, that is when promoter Guillermo Brito said the press conference was over.

It will be the second tilte fight in the bautiful port of Veracruz. The first championship fight was in 2002 when hometown favorite Cruz Carbajal defeated Mauricio Martinez for the WBO bantamweight title.
