Mark Jason Melligen continues his march to boxing prominence by winning via 4th round TKO over Ernesto Zepeda of Tijuana, Mexico in their 10-round welterweight bout at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV Saturday night.
The end for Zepeda (39-13-4 34KO) came at 2:40 of the 4th round when Melligen sent him to the canvas after a blistering attack by the Bacolod City native. The referee didn't bother to count. Earlier rounds saw Melligen breaking down Zepeda with pinpoint accurate punches.
Melligen (16-1, 12KO) recorded his 4th straight victory in the United States carrying the Top Rank banner under the guidance of Las Vegas-based British trainer Tony Martin and ALA head trainer Edito Villamor and is now looking for bigger fights ahead.
