CALDERON-MAYOL FIGHT ENDS IN TECHNICAL DRAW

The world championship fight between WBO light flyweight defending champion Ivan Calderon of Puerto Rico and challenger Rodel Mayol of the Philippines ended in techncial draw moments ago at the Madison Square Garden in New York when the fight was stopped by the referee at 1:15 in the 6th round due to excessive bleeding from Calderon's cut on the forehead caused by an accidental headbutt in the 5th round.
The judges' scores were 58-56 Mayol, 58-56 Calderon and 57-57.
