MARES, ALAVARADO SCORE WINS

Ringside from MGM Grand Garden Arena, LAS VEGAS -- Undefeated Abner Mares (18-0-0 11KOs) of Mexico scored a TKO win over Jonathan Perez (14-6-0 11KOs) of Columbian in the 6th round of their 8 round bout. The Mares-Perez tussle was the 4th bout of the evening in the undercard of the Pacquiao-Hatton megafight.
In the 5th bout, undefeated junior welterweight prospect Mike Alvarado (26-0-0 18KOs) of Denver, CO dropped Joaquin Gallardo (18-8-1 5KOs) of Oakland, CA in the 2nd round before earning a unanimous decision victory in their 10-round bout.
