GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao's youngest child, Queen Elizabeth 'Queenie' Pacquiao, was baptized here this morning in a simple rite at Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church with a long lineup of powerful political figures and glittering stars in the entertainment world as her godparents headed by Vice-President Noli de Castro and Senator Loren Legarda. Queenie was born to Pacquiao's wife Jinkee last Dec. 30 in Los Angeles, CA.

Gensan's 'royal' family later hosted a grand reception at the KCC Convention Center here, the same venue used by Pacquiao for his 30th birthday celebration last Dec. 17 when it was then converted into a Las Vegas-style arena complete with a boxing ring and slot machines but now was transformed into a Disneyland type of setting complete with palace makeovers, vaudevilles and magical shows to welcome the new 'queen' in Pacquiao's kingdom as thousands filled up the KCC Mall to try to get a glimpse of the famous faces who made their entrances to the venue.

Before the program started, Senator Miguel Zubirri, with Senators Loren Legarda, Jinggoy Estrada and Ramon 'Bong' Revilla Jr standing as witnesses, read a senate resolution commending Pacquiao for his conquest of boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya last Dec. 6 calling Pacquiao "the greatest Filipino boxer of our time."

Queenie, the Pacquiao couple's 4th child, was formally introduced into the world in a make-believe ambiance with some of the country's most famous and powerful personalities welcoming her.

A TV crew of HBO, which will soon start a new 24/7 series for the upcoming Pacquiao-Hatton fight on May 2 in Las Vegas, came to General Santos City to cover the proceedings.
