The pairings for the boxing event scheduled on the eve of Manny Pacquiao's birthday in General Santos City on Dec. 16 has been released by MP Promotions. Headlining the card is Roel Laguna (9-2-2 6KOs) of RWS Stable who will go up against crowd-pleaser Jake Verano (18-11-3 9KOs) of Leolet Stable. Other headliners are Rodulfo Sumabong vs Richard Olisa and Romart Sentillas vs Jetly Purisima.

Also seeing action is undefeated Gensan prospect Jether Oliva (10-0-0 8KOs) who will take on Jun Eballe of Gingoog City.

The rest of the card are as follows:

Alven Baez vs Jerry Baja; Ernie Fontanilla vs Elmar Francisco; Rey Las Pinas vs Renan Branzuela; Esrael Salud vs Allan Tumala; Jhon Ugbaniel vs Romulo Ramayan and Robert Orot vs Jaime Bermeso.

The Dec. 16 card dubbed as 'Handog sa Birthday ni Pacman' is organized by MP Promotions in partnership with RWS International.

Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao, who on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) shocked the boxing world by destroying the much bigger and highly popular Oscar de la Hoya at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, will celebrate his 30th birthday in his hometown in General Santos on Dec. 17 in what is expected to be a huge day-long celebration with personalities from the boxing community, politics, show business, the media and the ordinary folks expected to troop to the southern city of Mindanao. Philippine president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and staunch Pacquiao supporters Environment Secretary Lito Atienza and Deputy National Security Adviser Luis Singson will lead guests from the government. Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, and trainer, Freddie Roach, are also expected to join the celebrations.
