ROACH WANTS HATTON NEXT

Los Angeles -- In a statement to PhilBoxing's Anthony Andales, future hall of famer Freddie Roach unequivocally said that he wants Filipino spitfire Manny Pacquiao to fight Britain's Ricky Hatton next as the fight makes for a better match up than a Pacquiao vs Mayweather.

Roach said, "Regardless of money, I want Hatton to be the next fight for Manny. I don't want a boring fight. Look at what happened when Dela Hoya fought Mayweather. If we didn't came to fight no fight will gonna be happening. I'd rather let Manny fight Hatton. It may be in England or here as long as it is a guaranteed good fight."

Roach had been widely criticized for letting Pacquiao fought De La Hoya as many 'experts' perceived the fight to be a mismatch in favor of the bigger De La Hoya. As it turned out, the fight was in fact a mismatch but the other way around when the smaller Pacquiao totally dominated De La Hoya en route to an 8th round TKO victory Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Roach was proven right all along.
