BANGKOK -- Higly rated Sod Looknongyangtoy of Thailand overpowered up-and-coming Filipino fighter Donriel Marcos with a 6th round TKO victory to successfully defend his WBO Asia-Pacific superbantam title Friday afternoon at the Chumphon provincial court ground about 500 kilometers south of Bangkok, Thailand.

Although Marcos (9-2-0 1KO), who is fighting out of the Black Scorpion stable of Lanao del Norte, had his moments, the wily veteran SodLooknongyangtoy (39-2-0 18KOs) peppered him with more accurate punches throughout the fight. The eventful 6th round saw the referee stopped the contest after Marcos was held defenseless from the barrage of SodLooknongyangtoy.

In the main undercard, Terdsak Jandaeng won by TKO in the 5th round over Eric Macas.

The Chumphon event was a collaboration of Kokiet Group of Thailand and SGG Promotions of the Philippines which had previously held bouts in Zamboanga City involving Eric Canoy vs Terdsak Jandaeng and in Cebu City featuring Michael Domingo vs Ratanachai Sor Vorapin.
