PANAMA CITY -- The Philippines' Rolly 'Matsushita' Lunas has been penciled to challenge reigning WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno of Panama. The Moreno-Lunas title fight will be held at the Figali Convention Center here on October 30.

This will be Moreno's second defense of the title he won from Wladimir Sidorenko in D?sseldorf last May. In his last outing, the slick fighter Moreno retained his bantamweight title by Technical Decision win over Mexican challenger Cecilio Santos in a fight held in Panama City Thursday last week.

"Chemito" Moreno (23-1) has said that as WBA bantamweight champion, he is "willing to step into the ring against the best bantams from the Philippines and the world."

Lunas (25-6-1 14KOs) last fought against Kaona Klongpajol of Thailand at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on Aug. 2 where he won by unanimous decision.

The Moreno-Lunas title figtht will be the 4th time that a Filipino and a Panamanian compete each each other for a world boxing title. So far the count is 3-0 in favor of Panama.

Rolly 'Matsushita' Lunas (L) delivers a left uppercut to the bread-basket of Kaona Klongpajol during their bout at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu on Aug. 2.
