Floyd Mayweather Jr files $175 million lawsuit against former associates and advisors

Sports star and legendary former world champion Floyd "Money" Mayweather has filed a $175 million lawsuit against former associates and advisors, accusing them of fraud.
Mayweather has reportedly sued, among others, his former manager Jon Ricketts, Ayal Priest, CEO of the real estate investment firm Priest Apex Ventures, and attorney Alexander Seligson, who handled the refinancing of Priest's properties. Mayweather alleges that they kept him under a cloud of lies and manipulation for years.
Leo Jacobs, Mayweather's attorney, has stated: "We are deploying all available resources and pursuing a comprehensive investigation based on forensic accounting, including the diversion of funds from out-of-court settlements, refinancing proceeds, and real estate sales to accounts under the responsibility and management of Jon Ricketts through Priest Apex Ventures. Our goal is for Floyd Mayweather to recover all the money he is rightfully owed."
The complaint alleges multiple charges, including $7.5 million sent to Priest Apex on July 1, 2024, purportedly for a 12-month investment. However, the investment never materialized, and the funds disappeared.
The complaint further alleges that Mayweather's funds were illegally allocated to Priest Apex at Ricketts' direction, including a $15 million real estate deal. It also claims that $2.1 million from an $8.2 million refinancing fund for Mayweather's Las Vegas property was transferred to Priest Apex "at Ricketts' direction, without Mayweather's approval."
Mayweather reportedly earned close to one billion dollars in boxing, but he has faced a $7.3 million seizure by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) due to unpaid taxes between 2018 and 2023.
Mayweather also has a lawsuit for a $105,000 debt related to a private jet charter service and an outstanding $338,000 for the rental of a duplex at the Baccarat Hotel and Residences in Manhattan.
Sources close to Mayweather have been commenting for months that the sports star may be experiencing financial difficulties, much of this confirmed by the low marketing and advertising expenses for his events.
It was recently made public that he sold his private jet and several mansions.
Mayweather insists on a rematch with fellow star and sports legend Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines, but nothing concrete has been announced.
