Pasalamat Festival Chess Tour 2026 to Push Through

The highly anticipated Pasalamat Festival Chess Tour 2026 will push through on January 16 and 17, 2026, at the Convention Center, Rotunda, Pagadian City.

The 2-day Rapid Chess Tournament (15 minutes plus 2 seconds increment) is divided into two categories.

The Pasalamat Festival Under-17 Chess Tour 2026, also known as the Councilor Lance Co Chess Tournament, will be held on January 16, 2026. The champion will receive ₱5,000 plus a trophy. Second place will get ₱3,000 plus a trophy, while third place will take home ₱2,000 plus a trophy. Placers from 4th to 10th will each receive ₱1,000.

The Pasalamat Festival Open Chess Tour 2026, also known as the Mayor Sammy Co Chess Tournament, will be held on January 17. The champion will receive ₱20,000 plus a trophy. Second place will get ₱15,000 plus a trophy, and third place will take home ₱10,000 plus a trophy. Fourth place will receive ₱4,000, fifth place ₱2,000, placers 6th to 10th will each get ₱1,000, and placers 11th to 15th will each receive ₱500.

The City Government of Pagadian City is spearheading the event in partnership with PagZamSur Professional, Chess Players Association, and One Chess Movement. It is supported by Mayor Sammy Co, Councilor Lance Co, and Councilor Jigger Ariosa, with Atty. Cliburn Anthony Orbe serving as Chief Arbiter.
