ORLANDO, FL (October 22, 2025) — Rising super middleweight prospect Ronny Alvarez (6-0, 4 KOs) continued his undefeated run in emphatic fashion Saturday night, stopping seasoned veteran Bruno Pola (10-4-1, 9 KOs) via 5th round TKO in a scheduled 6-round bout at the South Padre Island Convention Center. The fight, part of the globally televised Most Valuable Prospects 16 card presented by Most Valuable Promotions and aired live on DAZN, marked a significant step forward for the 21-year-old Alvarez under the bright lights of the national stage.
From the opening bell, Alvarez, who is co-promoted with Boxlab Promotions, Warriors Boxing and Dreambigg Promotions, showcased a calm, composed aggression, working behind a sharp jab and patiently dissecting the heavy-handed Pola. Though Pola came into the contest with a knockout-heavy resume, Alvarez’s slick movement and smart combinations prevented the Colombian from ever finding a rhythm. In the fifth round, Alvarez ramped up the pressure landing power punches throughout the round, but it was a powerful straight left that forced the referee to step in at 2:28 of the round.
Saturday’s victory marked Alvarez’s fourth knockout in six professional outings, and his most high-profile win to date. “I felt sharp, composed, and most importantly, I felt like I belonged on this stage,” said Alvarez. “We came in with a plan to break him down round by round, and that’s exactly what we did.”
With people watching from all over the world, Alvarez was excited to give them a great fight. “Fighting on DAZN, in front of a global audience, it was exciting. This is what you dream of as a kid,” Alvarez continued. “But now it’s not a dream—it’s my reality. I’ve got the right team, the right mindset, and I believe I’m one of the top young prospects in the division.”
Looking ahead, Alvarez expressed confidence in his trajectory while remaining grounded. “This win validated everything we’ve been working on. It showed I can stay poised against a dangerous puncher and get the job done under pressure,” Alvarez concluded. “I know the road gets tougher from here, but I’m ready to climb. Whether it's 8 rounds next or a co-main event, I want the next challenge.”
Amaury Piedra, President of Boxlab Promotions, complimented Alvarez’s development and star potential. “Ronny Alvarez is the real deal. You don’t often see a young fighter with poise, power, and ring IQ all wrapped in one. He’s maturing in every fight, and you saw that tonight,” Piedra said. “He belongs on the national stage, and we believe he has what it takes to become a world champion down the line. The fans in Texas got a taste, but the world is about to see what Ronny’s capable of.”
The win adds momentum to Alvarez’s fast-rising career and positions him as a rising star in the super middleweight division. With youth, discipline, and growing experience on his side, Alvarez’s star continues to intensify—one round at a time.
