The RP Blu Girls kicked off their 2025 WBSC Women’s Softball Asia Cup campaign with a dominant 15‑0 victory over India, showcasing both strong offense and steady defense. The team wasted no time piling on runs early, taking control of the game and maintaining pressure throughout, while limiting India’s chances at the plate.

Jean Henri Lhuillier, President of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, commended the team’s performance. “It’s always encouraging to see the hard work pay off in games like this,” he said. “We’re proud of how the team started the tournament and look forward to how they’ll continue to perform.”

With this win, the Philippines improved their standing in the round-robin phase of the tournament. They have already notched impressive victories over host nation China and regional rival South Korea but suffered a tough loss to powerhouse Japan earlier in the week. The top three finishers will qualify for the 2026 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup and the Asian Games.

Next up, the Blu Girls will face Singapore tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Xi’an, China. With a strong performance so far, the team aims to stay consistent and continue building momentum as the tournament progresses.-Marlon Bernardino
