LOS ANGELES – May 20, 2025 – Hard-hitting contender Armando Reséndiz promised to bring the fight to Interim WBA Super Middleweight Champion Caleb Plant when they meet in the PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video headliner on Saturday, May 31 from Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

"Fans are going to see a fighter who leaves it all in the ring,” said Reséndiz (15-2, 11 KOs). “I’m bringing pressure, energy, and heart from the opening bell. I’m not coming to back up — I’m coming to bring the fight to him. You’re going to see someone who’s hungry to win and willing to go through whatever it takes to get the job done. I’m not showing up just to compete — I’m gonna make a statement!”

Trained by renowned coach Manny Robles, who guided Andy Ruiz to the heavyweight world championship, amongst other accomplishments, Reséndiz believes that his continued work with Robles will buoy him to a career best victory on May 31.

"Working with Manny Robles out here in Southern California has really taken me to another level,” said Reséndiz. “Every day, we’re motivated — not just on getting in shape, but on improving every part of my game. We’re fine-tuning my footwork, tightening up my defense, sharpening my punches, and building smart strategies for fight night. I’ve been learning so much throughout this camp. Honestly, I feel more confident, more focused, and more ready than I ever have before."

While Reséndiz enters the ring as an underdog against the former IBF Super Middleweight World Champion Plant, it’s a position that Reséndiz has relished before. In March 2023, the 26-year-old sprung an upset on former unified world champion Jarrett Hurd, stopping him in round 10. He plans to bring that same confidence into a matchup against an opponent who he expects the best from in their showdown.

"I know Caleb Plant is a top-level fighter,” said Reséndiz. “He’s a former world champion for a reason — he’s fast, technical, and he’s been in there with the best. I respect everything he’s accomplished. But I didn’t take this fight to just be another name on his resume. I’ve put in the work, I’ve made the sacrifices, and I’m coming in prepared to give him a tough fight. This is the kind of challenge I’ve always wanted — to go up against the best and prove I belong with the best. He’s going to remember my name forever.”

A native of Guayabitos, Nayarit, Mexico, Reséndiz began his career as a prodigy in Mexico’s amateur boxing system, winning a gold medal in the National Olympics during his first year in the sport. He would go on to win three gold medals and two bronzes in national tournaments, making him the most decorated fighter from Nayarit. Now he has the chance to bring all that work to a climax with a career-changing victory.

"This fight is huge for me and I want to thank my promoters Warriors Boxing and Boxlab Promotions for giving me this opportunity,” said Reséndiz. “It’s not just another fight — it’s the opportunity I’ve been chasing since I first laced up gloves. If I beat Caleb Plant, people will have to take notice. A win puts me in position to fight for a world title. I’ve worked too hard and come too far to let this moment slip away. I’m treating it like everything is on the line — because for me, it is."
