Filipino middleweight sensation Weljon “Triggerman” Mindoro preserved his unblemished record by dominating Australian Joel “Cama KO” Camilleri and stopping him via a fourth-round technical knockout (TKO) in the undercard of IBA Champions Night: Dubai on Saturday, December 7 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Camilleri’s corner prevented him from receiving further punishment and threw in the towel in the fourth round, thereby prompting the referee to declare Mindoro the winner by stoppage.

The 24-year-old Mindoro clobbered Camilleri with a flurry of solid punches of which he received a standing count early in the round. Then Mindoro unleashed a strong uppercut dealing with the Aussie his second knockdown. He finished his foe with a perfect left-right-uppercut combination to force the TKO and won the IBA Asian middleweight title.

Mindoro, pride of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur and now trains in the United States, improved his perfect record to 14 wins, all by knockout, no defeat, with one draw. Camilleri suffered his first career defeat by knockout.

A 5-foot-11 southpaw, Mindoro won the fight in Dubai, less than a month after knocking out Lucas de Abreau (14-5) in the third round in Kissimmee, Florida, on November 9.

Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who will head the International Boxing Hall of Fame 2025 inductees, awarded the IBA title belt on Mindoro, who fights under MP Promotions.

On Friday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers played the Hawks at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The Lakers lost, 134-132 in overtime. LeBron James finished with 39 points, ten rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and three blocks while shooting 14/25 from the field in 43 minutes of playing time.

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 126-114 and have now gone back and forth with wins and losses for nine straight games. "The Joker" finished with 27 points with 13-of-26 shooting, a season-high 20 rebounds and 11 assists. This was his ninth triple-double of the season. But the duo of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland combined for 52 points to power the league-leading Cavaliers.
