Mark Magsayo knocked Mexican Eduardo Ramirez down in the third round at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The bout was featured on the preliminary card of the Gervonta Davis vs Frank Martin main event.

The fight will determine the top contender in the super featherweight division and it continued until the ten-round full distance. In the third round Magsayo hit and dropped Ramirez with a strong right hand followed by a solid uppercut.

After the end of the tenth round, the scores were revealed as follows: 97-92, 97-92 and 99-90, all in favor of Magsayo, the former WBC featherweight champion.

The unanimous decision win improved the Tagbilaran City native's record to 26-2 with 17 KOs and won the vacant WBA intercontinental superfeatherweight title. It was his second win in a row. The 28-year-old Valencia, California-based Magsayo won his second straight match after winning over another Mexican Isaac Avelar by third round KO last December 9.

Magsayo lost to Mexican Brandon Figueroa for the WBC interim world featherweight title in 2023. He also lost his World Boxing Council (WBC) world featherweight title to Rey Vargas in 2022.

Ramirez, the 31-year-old former world title challenger from Los Mochis, Sinaloa dropped to 28-4-3 with 13 KOs.

He was a former interim world featherweight champion and before the loss to the Filipino, he won against countryman Sebastian Diaz Maldonado in his hometown in Los Mochis, Mexico by a sixth-round TKO.
