According to Boxing News 24, former unified lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr. predicted a knockout victory for Devin Haney over Ryan Garcia in their April 20 fight. Kambosos lost twice to Haney in lopsided unanimous decision defeat. Kambosos was defeated by Haney on June 5, 2022 in Melbourne, Australia where he lost his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles and on October 16, 2022 also in Melbourne for the rematch.

Kambosos believes that Ryan Garcia who displayed ridiculous "antics" during the promotional campaign of his fight against IBF light welterweight champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) is a sign that he is not prepared for the coming fight on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

“You don’t go into a fight against a guy like Devin Haney, who prepares 110% and is super focused and has a great team around him. You don’t go into a fight against him with those kinds of antics,” Kambosos told Fighthype about Ryan Garcia’s pranks during the promotion of his fight against Devin Haney on April 20

Charly Suarez was supposed to face fellow unbeaten contender Henry Lebron on April 13 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. But Lebron withdrew, and now Suarez is scheduled to fight the replacement foe Luis Coria in an eight-round junior lightweight bout which is at the undercard of the heavyweight fight between Jared Anderson versus Ryad Merhy.

Suarez has been sparring foes similar to the style of Lebron, a counterpunching southpaw, and suddenly changed to the aggressive orthodox stance of Coria. “That’s the way it is in boxing, there are situations like that…so I’m always ready,” the 35-year-old Suarez was quoted by The Ring. Suarez (16-0, 9 KOs) is from San Isidro, Davao del Norte.

His trainer and manager Delfin Boholst said that Suarez’s lengthy amateur experience, which concluded at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro can make him adjust easily in a change of opponent.

The 25-year-old Coria (15-6, 7 KOs) from Perris, southern California is a Robert Garcia-trained fighter and has never been stopped in his career. He knocked down junior lightweight prospect Robson Conceicao in a close decision loss in 2020, and lost by tight decisions to favorite boxers Enrique Vivas and Adam Lopez.

Suarez is ranked no. 5 by the IBF and no. 11 by the WBO. According to The Ring, Top Rank matchmakers told him that a win over Coria most likely would provide an opportunity to fight Andres Cortes (21-0, 12 KOs), a dangerous contender from Las Vegas.

Undefeated fighter Ramil “The Sharp” Macado is training hard for his May 1 encounter with Lorenz Dumam-ag in the main event of “Engkwentro 13” fight card at the Mandaue City Sports Complex.

Macado is undefeated in eight fights with four knockouts. While Duman-ag has a record of 9-0-1 with 6 KOs.
