BANGKOK, Thailand – Romshane Sarguilla, Sonny Katiandagho and Toshihiko Era stopped their foes during the Highland Boxing Promotions show today, Saturday December 30 in Bangkok, Thailand,

The entertaining 6-bout show was the final event that completed Thailand's boxing calendar for 2023.

In one of the main fights, the Filipino "Hammer" Romshane Sarguilla (11-8-2, 8 KO's) of Cotabato del Norte did not waste a second in shocking and rocking 21-year-old Kwanchai Pliankhunthod of Thailand for a non-title round one TKO win in the bantamweight division.

The win was Sarguilla's second consecutive stoppage victory in Thailand, setting him ready for more even hotter action in the 118-pound division.

Sonny Katangdiango (R) wins over Manot Comput of Thailand.

In welterweights, "The Pinoy Hearns" Sonny Katiandagho (15-6-1, 9 KO's), of Cebu City by way of Sarangani, overpowered Thai veteran Manot Comput in two chapters to record his first triumph in Thailand, "The Land of Smiles."

In the show's main event, veteran lion-heart warrior Toshihiko Era (14-2, 11 KO's) of Osaka, Japan, displayed accuracy and power in decking and deleting Thai Artid Bamrungauea in two frames to conquer the vacant PAT (Professional Boxing Association of Thailand) Bantamweight Title.

Toshihio Era wins over Artid Bamrungauea.

From the get go, Toshihiko Era took control, dishing out combinations on the retrieving Artid, hunting and hurting him with lethal body shots, which eventually saw his demise.

The third man in the ring was veteran Thai referee Worawuth Duankhao.

Earlier on in the afternoon, Thailand's 23-year-old rookie light flyweight Jirakrit Jarurattanachai (2-0, 2 KO), scored his second pro win by fast besting and disassembling Thai compatriot Phanuwat Hongsopha for a TKO win.

Three consecutive, well-placed body shots thrown by Jirakrit hugely reduced Phanuwat, sending him backwards against the ropes to absorb even more bombardment until the uneven clash was waved off by referee Piphat Srisaneh.

The knockouts-filled event -- which was the last boxing show in Thailand for 2023 -- unfolded at the Highland Boxing Gym, Udom Suksa School, in Bangkok, promoted by Brico Santig and Supanat Chanram.

Supervisor for the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand was Royal Thai Army Major General Damrong Simakajornboon.
