Skilled Filipino 105-pounder Jake “El Bambino” Amparo (14-4-1, 3 KO'S) of Paradise Bohol scored the most important win in his life by earning a well-deserved 12-round unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten, world-ranked Goki Kobayashi (6-1, 4 KO's) today, August 5, in Kobe, Japan.

The confident, fast and focused Amparo decked the local Kobayashi in the opening frame, forcing him to visit the floor, setting the pace for the rest of the fight, in which the Pinoy bested the game and strong 24-year-old Nippon warrior.

It was not easy at all, but Jake Amparo succeeded, getting the job done.

With the riveting victory, Jake Amparo not only wins the coveted WBO Asia Pacific Minimumweight Strap, but also most likely gets a deserved place in the world rankings.

That's because Kobayashi has been ranked as high as WBO #4 in the world.

Official scores were 117-109, and 114-112 (x2), all in favor of the 25-year-old Jake Amparo born in Guindulman, Bohol.

Notably, Amparo's satisfying win, exacts revenge for Kobayashi's recent thumps over Pinoy boxers Cris Ganoza, Marco John Rementizo and Roslan Eco.

The main event 12-chapter Asian title battle was promoted by Kobe Promoter Masato Yamashita of Shinsei Promotions, live online on U-Next stream.
