Filipino Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo and Mexican-American Brandon Figueroa battled a good action fight with the Mexican-American "Heartbreaker" prevailing by points over the popular 27-year-old Boholano born in Tagbilaran.

Scores were unanimous: 117-109 (twice), plus a wide 118-108, all in favor of Figueroa (24-1-1, 18 KO's).

Notably, referee Thomas Taylor had deducted 2 points from the Pinoy, once in round 8, and then again in round 11, which might have been a bit excessive.

Those deductions contributed to tallies to become wider in favor of the taller Figueroa, 26, who becomes the new WBC featherweight interim champion.

Figueroa - who scores his second win after a setback to Stephen Fulton - might most likely go on to challenge fellow Mexican Rey Vargas (36-1, 22 KO's), who was in attendance, for the WBC Regular Featherweight world title.

Magsayo (24-2, 16 KO's), meanwhile, loses his second title fight in a row. The former ALA fighter, now a protege of Manny Pacquiao and Sean Gibbons, might now want to rest, re-group, re-focus and get back unto the horse.

The exciting Figueroa vs Magsayo 12-rounder clash was a promotion of PBC and TGB at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California, live on Showtime.

Interestinly, immediately after the action was over, fans from all over boxing-loving Pinoyland went to social media to express their opinions on what they saw.

Here is copy and paste of some of the first comments in:

Talo pero bugbog kalaban.. 🤣💪💪 kulang lang sa hangin..

- Sige pang gunit oi way hangin resulta cge ug pisbuk live🤣🤣🤣

- Lopsided desicion, those 2 point deduct too harsh, I thought the fight was a lot closer.

And what is your opinion? Should "Magnifico," who is still a super popular fighter, stay at 126, or should he try it at 130? What should he do next?
