Dubai's action promoter Phucan An Nguyen of "People's Fighters" Promotions - the #1 fan of Cuban and Filipino boxing - kicks off his 2023 boxing year with a hot showdown designed to thrill boxing fans in "The City of Gold," Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Boxers from "People's Fighters," most of them unbeaten young pro boxers from Cuba, will clash against strong Filipino and British fighters on Friday, March 10, in Little Cuba, Dubai, with promising world-ranked Cuban sensation Jadier Herrera fighting in the main event.

The main event is intriguing because boxing fans in Dubai have their eyes on the skilled 20-year-old Jadier Herrera (9-0, 7 KO's) of Camaguey, Cuba, the grandson of revered Cuban boxing legend 2-time Olympic gold medalist Angel Herrera Vera.

The elder Herrera is a Cuban sports hero, the boxing legend, who captured Olympic gold for Cuba in two consecutive Olympics: in Montreal 1976 and then gold again in Moscow 1980; plus top honors during Amateur World boxing Championships in Belgrade and Munich.

Could the younger Herrera's be on the go to fantastic heights in boxing too?

Answer: Even though Jadier Herrera has got the genes and the passion, it is still too early to tell.

However, so far Jadier has shown talent, discipline and commitment to the sport. How far could him climb?

Already the reigning WBC International super featherweight champion, Jadier trains and fights, wanting to follow the steps of his grand-father. The goal in his mind is a simple one and a beautiful one: to make his old man proud.

Importantly, Jadier's coming rumble will take him to a war against far more-experienced Filipino former WBF titlist "The Hammer" Harmonito Dela Torre (22-4, 14 KO's), the fearless combatant from "The City of Golden Friendship," Cagayan de Oro.

Will Jadier's fight against Harmonito Dela Torre be a stepping stone to more challenging battles in the Super Featherweight division?

Or will the 29-year-old battle-tested Filipino make perfect use of his vast ring knowledge to outbox and defeat the younger Cuban fighter, stopping him in his tracks?

THAT we will have to find out.

In the show's co-feature, unbeaten fast and furious 22-year-old super welterweight Yan Marcos (7-0, 6 KO's) of Havana, Cuba, collides hard against fearless 27-year-old Briton WBC Asia Silver belt-holder "The Hawk" Troy Coleman (10-1, 4 KO's) of Staffordshire, England.

Also in the card, undefeated 19-year-old Cuban tactician Jesus Gamboa (8-0, 2 KO's) battles Pinoy 29-fight veteran "Big Daddy" Adam Diu Abdulhamid, 28, of General Santos City, Philippines, in an 8-rounder clash in the super welterweight division.

in addition, tough 28-year-old Filipino warrior Elmo "Bisdak" Traya (12-4, 8 KO's) of Mandaue City, Cebu, will lock horns against unbeaten hard-swinging African "Inno Lee" Abdul Azizi Ssebulime (8-0, 5 KO's) of Uganda. Their hot 8-rounder war in the super lightweight division promises fireworks, will it end by KO?

Furthermore, Mindanao's two-time WBO Oriental Champ "Demolition Man" Alie Laurel (19-7-1, 11 KO's) from General Santos City wages war against 19-year-old slugger Dayan Gonzalez (8-0, 6 KO's) from Havana, Cuba.

How about that?

The exciting boxing event, set for Friday, March 10, in Little Cuba, Dubai, U.A.E., is a production of Dubai's prolific promoter Phucan An Nguyen of "People's Fighters" Promotions.

A committed man of boxing, Phucan An Nguyen has been staging thrilling boxing events in the City of Gold, including last year's clash of Guillermo Rigondeaux of Cuba against Vincent Astrolabio of the Philippines, a rumble surprisingly won by the Filipino.

"People's Fighters" Promotion will also produce the big boxing show in Dubai scheduled for Saturday, May 13, featuring fighters from the U.K., the Philippines and Cuba.

Dubai's coming March 10 show is promoted by "People's Fighters." Matchmaker: Brico Santig.
