FEATHERWEIGHT Arnaud Darius “Leroi” Makita of the Republic of the Congo will fight in the “The Battle 2” on November 26 at 3 p.m. at Elorde Davao Gym.

The 26-year-old Makita of MP Davao Gym will face Jet Masangkay of Iflex Gym of Davao City.

Makita, who has been in Davao since 2018 will have his third fight as a pro.

In his debut, Makita lost to Dennis Gaviola of Marawi City by a split decision despite sending down his opponent in the first round last May 1, 2022 at Barangay Ligaya Gym in General Santos City.

The 5-foot-9 Makita then stopped Ramie Gaabon of Misamis Oriental in the 1st round last September 24 at Nasipit Municipal Hall in Nasipit.

“Becoming a pro boxer made me realize that it was another world, a new one different from street fights,” said Makita.

Makita started boxing at Elorde Davao Gym before he transferred to MP Davao Gym to become a professional.

Makita said that this coming fight is just an opportunity for him to prove wrong to anyone who ever doubted his abilities to be a pro boxer.

“I can knock down any opponent in front of me. This is going to be an easy one,” said Makita.

The coming boxing event is the third presentation of Davao Ultimate Knockout Challenge (DUKC) Promotion in cooperation with the Mindanao Professional Ring Officials Association (MinPROA) and the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
