MARCIAL DEFEATS PICHARDO BY UD (PHOTOS)

Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Eumir Felix Marcial of the Philippines defeated Steven Pichardo of Gardena, CA by unanimous decision in their 6-round middleweight fight on the undercard of Fundora-Ocampo WBC Interim superwelter title fight at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA Saturday (Sunday in Manila). Judges James Green, Ivan Guillermo and Ellis Johnson had identical scores of 60-54 in favor of Marcial giving all rounds to the Filipino.

Marcial who sustained a bad cut above his right eye in the second round due to an accidental headbutt which saw blood pouring down his face the remainder of the fight, has now upped his pro record to 3-0 with the win while Pichardo dropped to 8-3-1, 2KOs.
