BANGKOK, Thailand -- After defending his WBO Cruiserweight African Title last October, and then defeating Frenchman Maurice Possiti last March in Dubai, Cameroon's 200-pounder Rolly Lambert (13-1-1, 11 KO's) climbs again the squared ring to battle heavy-handed Thai warrior Nattapon Plangpimai (16-2, 13 KO's) for the vacant WBA ASIA Cruiserweight Title, a clash that Lambert sees as stepping-stone to bigger fights in the weight-class of top dogs Jay Opetaia, Mairis Breidis and Ilunga Makaku.
The Lambert vs Nattapong rumble unfolds as the main event for the 11-bout international boxing show promoted by Highland Boxing set to thrill fans on the evening of Wednesday, August 3, at the fancy SPACEPLUS Night Club, RCA Plaza, in Bangkok, Thailand, a thrilling event that no boxing fan in the Kingdom wants to miss.
That's in part because the proven lethal power that both warriors pack in their punches makes fans think that the war might not make it to the scheduled 10-round distance. Fireworks are indeed widely expected.
For sure, local fans will cheer with the hometown boy, Nattapon, who has impressively knocked out 6 of his last 7 opponents, ravaging them, wanting scalp the head of Lambert next. Will he get it?
His supporters say yes.
A fighter of Thailand's renowned boxing outfit Phetchyndee Boxing, the 29-year-old Nattapon Plangpimaiwants aims to an exciting win.
But, three years older than Nattapong, the visiting Rolly Lambert does not plan on succumbing to the furious fists of the Thai fighter.
Lambert is not planning on letting pass the chance of claiming his first victory here in the "Land of Smiles" while claiming the WBA ASIA belt as well as a berth in the WBA Cruiserweight World rankings.
What warrior will come out from battle with his hand being raised by WBA international referee Mr. Pinit Prayadsab?
Will the man of the hour be the lethal Nattapong, a man willing to do anythingn to make his fans and team proud?
Or will the victorious be the visiting African man of action born in Cameroon's sports loving city of Bafoussam?
The exciting Rolly Lambert vs Nattapong Plangpimai clash for the WBA ASIA Cruiserweight (200-lbs) in Bangkok, Thailand, is promoted by Filipino award-winning promoter Brico Santig of the Highland Boxing Team, in association with veteran Thai man of boxing Supanat Chanram and entrepreneur Tony Chen, head of SPACEPLUS Night Club.
The clash is sanctioned by the WBA Asia.
A total of 10 more thrilling rumbles - four of them regional Asia Boxing Federation (ABF) title fights - will complete the show, by far the hottest event in Bangkok for August 3.
Some of the action fighters seeing action are unbeaten Filipino 108-pounder John Michael Zulueta (12-0-2, 5 KO's), undefeated Pakistan heavyweight Taimoor Khan (5-0, 4 KO's), featherweight Nadir Baloch (10-1, 8 KO's), Indian middleweight Israr Usmani (6-1, 6 KO's), Thai bantamweight Sarawut Jiamthong (6-0, 6 KO's), unbeaten Pinoy 118-pounder Herlan Gomez (4-0), and more.
May the Best Men Win!
